We have apple and peach trees behind our house! Who knew? Margot did! Pre-dinner block walk shenanigans tonight, and a little fruit amuse bouche at our neighborhood view spot.

Turns out this past week of crappy and chaotic sleep really did mean a milestone was coming (always does!). That, and the huge bright shiny object of an open dishwasher to serve as a goal. Holmes went the distance!
We all went to lunch with Lola to a new Puerto Rican restaurant up the street from us called Sazõn Kitchen. Delicious new find, and Meryl got her very own silver dollar pancakes!
Last week was the going-away party for the Executive Director at Meryl’s school. I said a few words, Sarah conversed with other parents, Holmes ate cheese, and Meryl ate chocolate chip cookies. And! We won a raffle for a painting that Meryl’s class painted! It’s a pour painting experience, inspired by the artist Holton Rower and the "accidental painting" technique of David Alfaro Siqueiros.
Also last week, Holmes had his NEXUS interview (yup, infants get to be ‘interviewed’ for Global Entry), which required a two-hour drive north of Seattle to Blaine. Luckily, we made a pitstop to Bellingham for our little Duke Caboom to stretch his legs and tour the office.
…And stalling all the stalls during the nighttime routine.
These two moments brought a combined time of 20 seconds of fun amidst a long day of traveling. Lots of hope at the start of our flight to Seattle, with little return:) Enough for a picture!
There’s a first for everything! Baylie texted us today to say that Holmes fell asleep…sitting up. Staying awake all day yesterday flying back to Seattle apparently wore him out too - we ALL could have used a nap on the plane!
Xanna and Lucy sure did have fun with the kids while we partied into the (bright light) night at Jendy and Jordan’s wedding!
Meryl loves oysters! Or mignonette.
Thanks, Jane!
Lesson 1: Open a savings account! Meryl scored the lucky Easter egg filled with a $5 bill during our block Easter egg hunt (thank you, Jenna!), and Frank had the good idea of having Meryl and Xanna open a savings account together this summer. Complete with a purse:) Three generations of savings accounts at the bank, right here! Lesson 2: Tellers have lollipops.
We did it! We did it! We threw a surprise 70th birthday party for Xanna! And, she was SURPRISED!
