Love is love is love

Here’s the picture I got from Frank today in response to my lunchtime text to him, counting down the days till Holmes’ first birthday…when I can stop pumping to feed a tiny human.

A year difference

Gah! Today was Meryl’s last day in the Raindrop room at preschool. She started the year as one of the youngest in her class, barely speaking and in diapers. And come next week, she’ll be starting in the Rainbow room as one of the oldest, full of voiced opinions and using the toilet! We have learned so much from Hilltop and Meryl’s teachers, Frank now sits on their Board, and we’ve developed new friends too!

It’s still shocks me every time I think about one of Meryl’s teachers saying that he’s excited for Meryl to transition into working on her ‘leadership skills’ next year as one of the seasoned kids in class. She’s three! We’re all lucky. Here’s to another year of learning!

So many little pieces

Meryl’s friend, Willie, gave her a campsite Playmobile set for her birthday - nostalgia! Perfect Sunday morning activity…but my big adult hands sure don’t maneuver all those little pieces like they used to! So glad Xanna saved all the Playmobiles of my youth. Though, holding off until Holmes is less likely to choke on them:)

Lumpia party

Happy Birthday, Meryl! We brought Lola and her homemade lumpia to Meryl’s class on her birthday to celebrate with her pre-school friends. And as the second youngest, Meryl finally got to use the special birthday candle snuffer to snuff out three candles for being three years old!

Birthday twin

Meryl shares a birthday with cousin, Lainie! Lucky for us, we caught her on FaceTime after she came home from her own birthday dinner to celebrate!
