Lola flew back from the Philippines today and she and Tito Edward wasted no time before coming over to play with Meryl. But they did stop by a Filipino market on the way for carioca, a fried ball of sweet rice flour. Dessert before dinner!
Our friends Bryan and Zoi are opening a restaurant in Pike Place Market called, Little Fish. Construction is going slowly, so they’re hosting monthly pop-ups to iron out the kinks while they (and we) wait. Meryl always has ‘her’ seat by the kitchen and Zoi is always at the ready with a show between dishes. Gotta practice those restaurant moments! Tonight Meryl ate octopus, trout in Iberico ham broth, and French onion cheese dip.
Morning grocery shops with Meryl have become one of my favorites...a favorite for Frank too on football Sunday.
Allison and Sam headed out of town and lucky Danielle gets to hang out with Noelle and Caleb all weekend! We brought over mac-n-cheese and chicken fingers...Frank couldn’t help but to brine the chicken with herbs and add mustard to the mac-n-cheese to round out the flavor. Happy dining!
(And, you can see the bag of soft toys embargoed from circulation to save Lummi from herself.)
According to Meryl, there’s no reason to read any other book.
Happy Halloween! Princess Diana of Themyscira strolled along Queen Anne Avenue with her lasso of truth (AKA a gold bag of peanut M&Ms). The whole neighborhood showed up in costume to trick-or-treat...and then we raced home to hand out candy. Frank’s choice this year: Kit Kat and Twix.
Well, we could have had a parenting moment, but baby shampoo is edible and she’s just too cute.
“Who you gonna call?”
And we’re not talking about time. And she’ll probably go for another record again.
What’s got a green landscape and requires balls and a stick to play the game? Not golf! Xanna and Meryl found a game they can both play together:)
We’re in town! Family dinner. Elliot’s birthday. Plus, we needed to oooh and ahhh over Colt and Emily’s new nursery and everything Gretchen has made...thus far.
Well, we ‘were’ in Calistoga, but we headed north to check on Grandpa instead. Luckily, Xanna has a closet to pilfer for warmth!
Baby Loves Disco, Halloween party! Our friend Spencer puts on an annual family dance jam in costume each year, and we’re the lucky ones who got to go! We initially considered dressing as Californians as we had packed shorts, but decided the dance floor judges only our smooth moves and layered up instead.
Never too early to instill a love of sports. Or have a fluffy sidekick watch your back.
