Shake Shack is opening their first Seattle Shack and I went to the VIP Preview tonight before their pending opening. And Meryl gets to have her first Shackburger.

Learning about the Senior Loan Committee. Lummi, on the other hand, is more concerned with acquisitions.
Being social and nice to people is tiring!
Meryl and I went shopping for a light for the baby’s room, and I turned around to find her testing out the bedding too. At least she took off her shoes! Me taking this picture gives no positive reinforcement at all:)
Amazon profits yet again with a shipment of all our potty training needs. I guess those friends of hers at school are good influences, but we’re scrambling at home to figure this out! Into the great beyond. Something is always changing.
Xanna talked to Meryl about all the things she could do with an oatmeal container tonight, like drumming! Perfect pre-bedtime activity:)
Back from LA and here is the gift I got Meryl.
While Sarah and I were vacationing in Los Angeles, we went into this shop and they had this wool taxi cab and knew I needed to get it for Meryl.
My dad was a taxi cab driver and we want to find touches that Meryl can know him and her little ‘Hey Taxi’ is one of those things.
Why ‘Hey Taxi’? That was the name of his cab company when I was a kid.
I’m pretty sure Meryl is doing just fine with Lola and Tito while we’re gone. In fact, with this look, I don’t even think she’s even missed us.
Today, we visited The Broad museum in downtown LA, where we got to experience what Meryl sees every day! Here we are, standing ‘Under the Table,’ by Robert Therrien, an exhibit of a table and chairs three times the size of a normal set. She won’t have this view for much longer, as she’s growing too fast already!
Nothing like kicking off a romantic weekend for two with a third wheel! We were so lucky to make it on to Kyra’s social calendar last night. Plus, that meant we could order more food! We also got a primer on the movie industry and everything we need to watch (hello maternity leave!), and best of all, the chance to catch up.
FaceTiming with everyone else is expected, but seeing us on screen was a flip from the norm.
It’s slumber party time with Lummi!
Showing Lola and Tito how to feed Lummi! We are headed to LA tomorrow and Meryl is holding down the fort while we’re gone - with lots of help!
Today we headed to a story time with Curious George and the man with the yellow hat, joined a tea party, had our cheeks painted, and got stamps on our hands! Kids events are crazy, but naptime afterwards was the true reward:)
Again, other people’s food always tastes better! In this case, Lola’s dumplings. Frank spent the day making freezer meals. I’d say nesting has begun again, but Frank is doing all the work! Dumplings, chili, meatballs, and more tomato soup with tomatoes from the garden (keep ripening!).
Last night, we headed to Allison’s to round out her solo-parenting stint and brought tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. ‘Some’ preferred to eat ketchup soup:) We also went fancy and sat at the dining room table! So fine and refined are we!
