Our neighborhood organized a family silent march today. It’s been a day of reflection and solidarity. Our kids are lucky to be living in this moment, to grow up prioritizing social justice, and to value the importance of being an ally to others.
As one opportunity to learn perspectives that are not our own, our preschool has started a podcast dedicated to challenging people’s orientation to words, thoughts, and advice, hosted by two male early childhood educators of color. We’re privileged to have become part of the Hilltop Children’s Center community, and this podcast is an example of the dialogue our kids are fortunate to share and lead with their teachers and friends. Meryl got an x-ray of her teeth today, and she already has actual teeth all up in her gums! We’re not even close to thinking about Tooth Fairy visits! Totally normal, and pretty incredible.
