Welp, turns out sleeping in a bassinet on a hot day is a chilling experience. Bunny needed a warm up.

Today was Baylie’s last day as our nanny after over three and a half years! Meryl was five months old with us newbie parents when when we started, and since then Baylie also received her masters degree, married her best friend, and started her advocacy work for nannies and domestic workers…and Holmes joined the party too! We had extra reading time this morning before Meryl went to school, reading an always favorite, Press Here. Baylie and Holmes then skipped off to a favorite adventure of theirs, the water fountain under the Space Needle.
Same book in the early days with Meryl in 2017!
When this cherub hit the scene:)
Baylie’s birthday this week, Baylie’s new job, Holmes joining Meryl at preschool next week, and years of learning all the things from crawling to walking to talking to being kind and ever so thankful for each other.
Nothing says ‘party’ quite like eating chicken on the bone in a waterless kiddie pool!
Gotta say, I love morning adventure drives just as much as her.
Budding photographer or clever cell phone commander?
Every night, Frank takes the compost out to the yard waste bin and does a dance for Meryl who watches from her room above.
Mostly so that they can topple it over dramatically:)
Little leggies and feet! Plus it’s hot. Plus, Holmes starts preschool next week. He’s growing up!
With a Happy Birthday video and original artwork (plus chocolate), we celebrate Xanna today! Meryl drew a bank while watching the remote Annual Shareholders Meeting and we framed it for Xanna’s office:)
Burrito blankets are the preferred reading-on-the-couch-accessory these days, even when it is hot. Always at the ready, Lummi carries her own with her at all times:)
Mail call! Meryl made postcards for her school friends and took them to the Post Office today.
These days, Holmes prefers to dine with Jamie Foxx for all meals. Why? Who knows. And we are here for it.
On this hot sunny day, down in the basement there was a terrible storm. Luckily, Meryl used a sheet to make a house to protect us!
The Homer edition!
