The Magic Bag of Vehicles

The smoke kept us inside all day today, and nobody was thrilled. Thankfully, we had The Magic Bag of Vehicles to create Vehicle World! One pick in the morning and one pick in the afternoon. Are they gas or electric? Do they need a garage? We had to find out! (Ultimate thanks goes to Jenna, who has dropped off copious toys from her now older kids that I’ve stashed in the basement for these moments.)

It truly takes a village

These kids don’t raise themselves! COVID, smoke, and every other drama that continues to impact our day-to-day makes us realize even more how much we appreciate our community of family and friends who influence our kids’ lives - and ours. Preschool is now closed for another week and we are ever so thankful for Lola and Tito’s support this week and next! Because space (even a few feet) from our own children, a phone call taking them far away, and other people’s ideas about what to do them helps us love them even more:)

Great lengths

Also, smoke from the fires in Northern California have traveled up to Seattle. We’re still on high watch for the vineyard and Calistoga area as the fires haven’t been contained. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating.

UBNA

We headed to the Union Bay Natural Area this morning and loved hanging out in the sun outside!

Workout swing

Meryl dubbed this swing the ‘workout swing.’ And upon mentioning that yes, she will undoubtedly get stronger, she said that she is going to get so strong that she’s going to be able to lift Tito. Get ready, Tito!

Sights on sights

We introduced Lola and Tito to our favorite (secret) beach today, which always (for me) feels like a vacation…especially now these days. Breathe in, breathe out.
