Hot chocolate and feets

Near three hours in the car this morning and we arrived home with a sockless wonder drinking hot chocolate:) The highway closed juuust as we arrived on the downhill side of the snowfall, so our skiing and snowboarding adventure was for naught. We did get to see huge snow plows forging ahead and huge semi-trucks chaining-up, though. Cheering the rain in Seattle for snow in the mountains, we’ll be back!

Discovery Park morning

We’re working down our Super Fun Vacation List of Activities this week, which includes a run-around with Lummi at Discovery Park. Don’t the kids look like walking and talking teenagers in the bottom picture?

Fremonsters

Jurassic Park in Seattle! And, the Theo Chocolate Factory across the street, which conveniently just opened as we arrived…and we (Meryl) absolutely needed chocolate:) Fun fact: Hilltop is across the canal and the kids look forward to wafts of chocolate on manufacturing days when they’re outside playing.

Floor skating

No skates? No problem! We pumped up the music, put on socks, and pirouetted around the kitchen prior to dinner:) Side note: Holmes is a DANCER. He loooves dancing, and could not stop dancing afterwards in his chair during dinner time. We’ll keep moving and grooving!

Lola sandwich

Both kids wanted to sit by Lola, and she was happy to oblige! Also, kale has returned to the dinner menu and we kicked-off the hearty roughage season with beloved kale chips.
