Lummi’s test results are in. She has Medium B Cell Lymphoma. Better than a High or Large grade result. Better than T Cell, which is the memory cell version that can be more resistant to therapy. (We’re learning!) Next up is a trial period of singular drugs to see if one might help her get to remission the fastest and reduce her lung lesions (this week’s drug option is helping). Week by week. For now, she and I sit outside on the sidewalk each morning…appreciating being outside while walking nowhere:)
Due to a positive case reporting in Holmes’ class, he is now home for a few days. He’s PCR tested negative (phew!), but without the youngster kids eligible for vaccination, quarantines are the protocol over routinely testing negative to attend school (like at Meryl’s school). For now and forever, we love our kids so much:)
Off they go!
Holmes and I decided that we wanted a pizza party for dinner. But first, why not have ice cream before dinner? Always “yes” to whipped cream.
Grand kid round up! Meryl has been wanting to do an Encanto performance of sorts, so we threw an Encanto dance party! Meryl was Isabela, Holmes was Antonio, Tito was Luisa, Frank was a Felix, I was Mirabel, and both Lola and Xanna were Abuela! We all sang our respective songs and lived it up Family Madrigal style!
Meryl would very much like to have a swinging suspended bed like Isabela’s bed in Encanto…so she created it, in the kitchen:)
Hot pot night!
Frank and I are obsessed. The Toyota commercials get me every time.
We saw an oncologist this week who confirmed she has Lymphoma, and may not have the secondary cancer diagnosis (fingers crossed!). Test results are still pending to determine her specific treatment path, but she did start a basic chemo therapy…and dare I say her personality is peaking through:) We’ve still got a few days for the chemo to take its course to help her breathing and give the promise of energy…meanwhile, she went to her first acupuncture appointment today!
Long ago, Grandpa named our first Lummi stuffy, Lummi Dos. (Lummi being the original, Lummi Uno.) Amidst Lummi’s diagnosis and our emotional roller coaster, our friends gifted us two more Lummi stuffies, now named Lummi Cinco and Lummi Seis. We’ve got a whole litter of love!
Also, when did they both grow tall enough to reach the ballot drop box slot?!?
Holmes’ roving toy affinities have landed on Foam Finger as of late. Foam Finger has found many uses, including being a toy bag, and is already being held together by Duct tape while being carried everywhere.
Meryl and I headed up to the mountain today while the boys hung out with Lummi. We got a run in before her lesson started and then I got several runs in by myself during her lesson! A real need for speed satisfied!
Plus, we lie on the floor petting Lummi a lot these days. And then she seeks space from our smothering:)
