Holmes’ roving toy affinities have landed on Foam Finger as of late. Foam Finger has found many uses, including being a toy bag, and is already being held together by Duct tape while being carried everywhere.

Meryl and I headed up to the mountain today while the boys hung out with Lummi. We got a run in before her lesson started and then I got several runs in by myself during her lesson! A real need for speed satisfied!
Plus, we lie on the floor petting Lummi a lot these days. And then she seeks space from our smothering:)
Lola has been making dinner on skiing Saturdays, working through Frank and Tito’s nostalgic Filipinx food favorites - tonight was oxtail Kare Kare. And because eating food begets thinking about more food, we pulled out our Filipinx cookbooks to inspire next week’s menu!
Lummi, Bunny, and Meryl on the floor next to our bed early this morning. (Meryl said she made sure to pet Lummi as she set up next to her in silence.) Lummi was just preliminarily diagnosed with both Lymphoma and Histiocytic Sarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer. We’re heartbroken and devastated and still learning what comes next while scheduling what comes next too. For now, lots of pets for Lummi.
Off to see the frat boys of the Puget Sound! We are at peak party season for about sixty male sea lions taking refuge in Shilshole Bay while feeding their bellies…squid or herring ready to spawn? We’re learning! (This bay is the mouth of what then becomes the Locks and Salmon Ladder to the east.) We had to see the party.
There they are! And more swimming around. They had a lot to say:) I thought this was a funny quote from the Seattle Times article about them: “The pier has three identical signs on it, each citing the Revised Code of Washington and Seattle Municipal Code. “No Trespassing, No Loitering, Violators Will be Prosecuted.”
But the sea lions, they trespass. They loiter. They flaunt their lawlessness.”
Bunny recently returned to the scene and joined in on the fun. She’s happiest when wearing matching nightgowns:)
Holmes met up with a friend for a scooter play date today and he made up this game of pushing balls around the playground with their scooters. And then he proceeded to find all the puddles for purposeful stomping…who needs boots for puddle jumping? Not Holmes!
